The Angelica Kauffman Research Project – AKRP was initiated in 1990 as a research undertaking and has been affiliated with the painting collection of the Stiftung Museum Kunstpalast Düsseldorf since 2006. The intensive continuation of the work on the project has been made possible by a one-year leave, granted by the Stiftung Museum Kunstpalast.

Over the course of many years, the project has received valuable support and encouragement from a large number of experts in public and private collections, from mentors and teachers, colleagues, collectors and art connoisseurs, conservators, archivists, librarians and art dealers worldwide, for which the AKRP is very grateful.
